Help Darlington Offroad Racing

Postby 88bronzetrooper » Fri Jun 10, 2011 12:02 pm

So as most of you guys know Joe Darlington is racing in ECORS with 2 isuzus this year again. Last year they won the A class series and came in 3rd in B class. B class would have gone better if a 3 foot log hadn't fallen on the race truck.
Anyone that has come to a race will tell you how the rodeo in A class just fly's and is the class of the field with its speed and strength. If not for a few fluke incidents with parts we would have won the first 2 races this year.
Well I know all of us here are big lovers of the brand and would love to see these Isuzus keep wooping up on those heeps. But to do this Joe is going to need some sponsors to keep up with gas and entry fees.
A couple of us on his crew were thinking of reaching out to the planet members and see if we could take up a collection from everyone. We would open a pay pal account you could all donate to or send a check right to Joe. Any contribution works and no amount is too small.
One idea that has come up is to make a donation and have there name or forum id as a sticker on the truck. Dont know what kind of interest there would be in that but we can look into it. As always any suggestions for ideas or sponsors would be great!
Come on guys lets all help out our brand and show we can hold our own against those jeeps and yotas!!
Dylan

Heres a few pics of the trucks we race just to give you an idea. As you can see Joe is already rocking a Huge Planet sticker on the Blue Rodeo!

Aw you used my pics :) Stickied this thread and I can say first hand that this team and the race in general are awesome to watch and would love to see Joe keep it going. Had a few guys come up to us in Auburn talking about how they are just trying to be like the Isuzu guys!

There is lots of real estate on these trucks for you guys if you want your forum name on there, or would like to just help show that Isuzu can take on everyone else!!

Along with Dylan and a friend of his, we help Team Darlington and there are already several that come out to these races.

As the Newbie I can't tell you enough how cool it is that there's a team out there racing trucks that might have less mods on them than your Daily Drivers do!!!

I'm sure I speak for Joe D, Peter, JP, Doug, Dylan, and the other guys that help and make it to these races that can tell you anything and everything you can help out with is appreciated!!

X4 on what's been said,buy parts from joe so he can continue racing,believe me it ain't cheap....come out to the races and show your support.
Things like:
Do you have an extra set of diff brackets laying around taking up space?ship them to him on your dime and include a note saying thanks for supporting isuzu use these to help the team.
Got a few extra $$ in paypal?get a sticker on the truc for the next race.
Everything helps out

Thanks for tuning in......go,go.....go..JoeD

Thanks guys for all chiming in! Like i and the rest of the team have said this is a great thing guys and we all want to keep joe going. But to do that we are all going to have to help. Anything any of you can do would help. Even if its 5 dollars its 5 more dollars towards gas then before. Or maybe you know a company that would want to put some sponsorship towards it who knows. Thanks for all the support so far and can't wait for more!

When the Pay Pal account is set up let us know. If I can't go race my truck, I can at least help some one else race theirs.

DOR's paypal is [email protected]

Race details can be found here: http://www.ecors.com/schedule/carolina-crawlin

It's going to be at the old spartanburg fairgrounds... I could be wrong but this is where I believe it will be:

A good way to get money into a paypal account is with "MoneyPak".

It's a green card that you buy at places where you buy those temporary credit cards, phone cards, etc.

You take the card to the counter, tell them how much you want to put on it. And it costs 4.99 more than what you put on it. (You have to pay for the card with cash. They won't even accept a debit card in payment, which is the same as cash, as far as I know.)

Then just log onto your PayPal account, and put the money in.

You will choose to put money in. Then choose "Green Dot, and/or MoneyPak". It will take you to another page.

There is a number on the back of the card, that you have to scratch to uncover.

Feed that number to the website, and viola', your money is instantly in your account. No wait.

~~~~~~~
In this case, maybe you could forward the number to darlington, and they can put it directly into their account.
Talked to Joe Last night and he says thank you too all of you that want to help. He says anyone that makes a donation to the team will receive a darlington offroad racing sticker for there truck.
He also wanted you all to know any donation is great because even if we won every race we would not win enough money to break even on this adventure. So thank you for all the help and lets show those jeeps whos better!!!
Thanks, we will probably end up crashing by the group somewhere, gotta check out JP's sweet new camper. If we choose to tent it up, we will run a generator for a fan or something.
Getting close, wish I could bring the VX and park it in the infield, but alas, at 12mpg, bringing the F250 at 25ish mpg is far more practical...*sigh* :(
Just drive over to his house, its like a Zu candy store. Then head by Peter and JPs for a few extras, and finally by Jerry's for all the rest....lol. Just shoot him a PM with what you need. He is still actively building stuff.
JP, if you read this, please save a spot over by you guys for the wife and I to setup our tent. Hopefully we can steal enough power to run a fan and a light. We are bringing the big 10x12 tent or our 9x9,don't know yet.
