Sorry Smiley, part of the other Zu Crew already picked up 37 for Fri-Sun. While I don't think I'm driving the event the Zuwharrie board will be well represented. Game on and see you guys there.

Like Doug said, I have a camera (with modest video capabilities).

I was already planning to afix a little tripod to the roll cage -- hopefully somewhere a little bit behind us, with a view out of the windshield -- that way, it'll capture not just the action, but also what takes place INSIDE the RatRod...

I'm betting that quite a bit of soundtrack editing will be required before it gets a 'Work Safe' rating, though

Cheers!

Doug, hanging from the upper windshield tube, or mounted on the dash tube would probably keep it outta the way enough, though, you would lose in car view...

in the plans...
saw a guy mount a simple camera mount to a bar, and zip-tied the bar to the drive+passenger head rests of his Mini (it was for a BMW octoberfest)
I was planning on doing the same thing.

just help me get a working engine...
i think i have some t-bars lined up.

Hey I am plannin on coming down to spectate at least with the family..Are there any accomodations that have four "solid walls" nearby instead of the nylon type at the campgrounds.....The wifey and newborn might not like the tent as much as they would a "solid structure".

Several teams were in Uwharrie this weekend, pre-running RML…

Here are a couple of shots of the first ledge – the one prior to entering the Rock Garden / Kodak Area:

Image
This Subbie is re-entering the Main Trail after taking the By-Pass Line.

Based on what I’ve been reading at NC4x4…
Most likely, A- and B-Class will have to take that By-Pass  --- Personally, I think it’s a whole lot easier to stay on the Main Trail, stick to the far left, point yourself straight at the tree, and then hook hard-to-the-right at the very last second… but maybe that’s just me

Image
Different view…
The tree in the foreground is the same one that’s behind the Suburban in the 1st photo.

I haven’t seen any photos of the B-Class ‘Far Left Line’ By-Pass through the Rock Garden – but (if I’m looking at it right) here’s one of the ‘Middle Line’ for C and D:

Image

I’m looking forward to seeing LOTS of photos from ISUZUwharrie ;)

Cheers!

looks like this Saturday is going to be the mega un-build day for the Passport...have to lower it (less wind resistance lower to the ground), Think the thing to do is to just use the 1 main spring in the rear, should absorb the jumps better than a full complete spring pack...I think doug is on to something with the whole lowering thing  . Have to find 4 spacesaver spares and throw them on (weight savings without all that rubber and less rolling resitance). Have to remove the lockers so I can have more power applied to the tire with the least amount of traction, Revolution 3.1 gears have to go also, they are just geared to low and can't go fast with them in...got some other secret stuff I am doing.... but can't say... those are my secret weapons against the infamous  "Lowrider"

you still running the trooper as well. may the craziest redneck win. I told matt that there will be no need for a spotter, except if we get rain. That will throw everything off and it wont matter how fast you can drive.
