HOW TO BLEED ISUZU CLUTCH SYSTEM IN 10 MINUTES!

Postby comerz » Wed Dec 24, 2014 2:36 pm

Yes, there is a VERY simple way to bleed an isuzu clutch by yourself, but it is helpful to have somebody there to help.
1) remove slave cylinder from bellhousing(just trust me)
2) check master cylinder to make sure there is fluid.
3)make sure both bleeding screws are tight
4)push slave cylinder rod in and let it release twice, then add more fluid (you can have somebody up there watching it). Listen for bubbles, when you stop hearing them youre about done. The easiest way to push it in and out is to put the slave cylinder rod in the clutch fork and just push it towards the bellhousing multiple times.
5) once you have pumped it a couple times and not seen/heard bubbles, reinstall the slave cylinder (theres an inspection plate on the side to line it up in the clutch fork if you need)
6) top fluid off and make sure you have good pedal, if not take it back out and start again (you should not have to do this if there werent any bubbles coming out when you finished)
Now, heres the explanation on how this works, air wants to go up, not down. So by using the slave cylinder as a pump, you pump the air out and replace it with fluid. This worked great for me and it only took about 10 minutes. Good luck and i hth!

Yup, I posted a video to that exact procedure here -> Bleeding clutch, this worked like a charm! It also shows the correct adjustment of the clutch pedal rod.

Maybe you guys can help me. I just tried this and lost all pedal. I mean no clutch whatsoever! Been bleeding for about a hour got half the pressure back but it still seems like I need to double clutch to mesh the gears.

Its probably time to change the master and slave cylinder. The rear seal in those master cylinders are notorious for busting. Look where the pedal linkage hookes up and see if there is fluid. There may not be, but systems dont usually just get air in them. I mean the slave cylinder is like $18 and the master is $30. Replace them and you should be just fine!

I will have to try this routine next time I fiddle with the clutch.
It sounds like the procedure should work well.

thanks for the heads-up
