2000 trooper abs and tod code lights

Postby joe steele » Tue Mar 22, 2011 12:24 am

2000 trooper Put two new split boots on front outer joints. A messy but easy fix. Have a abs code light on and the bottom axle light is blinking with a check light . I guess the bottom axle is the rear. How do I find the code. Won't show on regular scanner, Do i NEED a TECH 2.

Try a Modis scanner. Most Transmission shops use those

As you know, the ABS, TOD, and airbag codes cannot be read and erased with an OBDII scanner, so here's how you easily do it yourself without a scanner. This is for a '99 Isuzu Vehicross that I posted over at the Vehicross forum. I just checked the '00 Isuzu Trooper Shop Manual and it's exactly the same procedure.

This is a wire that you use to jump the terminals at the data port-

Here's a video I made showing the TOD check light flashing the code.
The code is 12 of course, meaning everything is normal.
