GWNF trip in Dec/Jan??

Postby TonkaToy » Mon Nov 16, 2020 2:45 pm

Anyone interested in a little winter camping/trail riding?

Thinking about a mid December or mid January trip up to run Flagpole Knob/Reddish Knob and the surrounding trails. Will probably camp at Hone Quarry Campground assuming it is open. This will be a privative camping trip no matter where we camp, but at least Hone Quarry has vault toilets. For those who have never been, these aren't challenging trails. Much of it can be run in 2wd, but there are some hill climbs and a few ledges to negotiate, but all are doable by a stock 4wd. This is mostly a scenic trip traversing ridgelines, and beautiful country.

This will be my first trip back up there since we lost Squatch and Hack,. Going to be weird not having those guys there, but I'm sure they will be keeping an eye on us.

Post up if you are interested and which month works better for you. I hope to have the new trail pig ready to see how it does.
