Newbie Suggestion

Postby shooter » Sun Dec 02, 2012 2:35 pm

Upon a newbie joining the forum or, at the time of their first posting, make it mandatory, via the steps required to join or post, that the newbie is required with a template, freehand, etc to include the make, model, year, engine, tranny, 2wd/4wd in their signature block area. I bypass several questions due to the need to ask for that info. be really nice if you could highly emphasize that when posting a question, the poster include in the Subject box something touching on the problem area as opposed to Help, Can't Figure This Out, etc.

I couldn't agree more about the need. There are ways to do it via plugins, but I haven't done it on IsuzuPup.com because every plugin adds some risk of failure for future phpBB updates. So, it wouldn't be right for me to suggest it here, while not doing it on my own site. ;)

Understood, I will. There are ways to do it via plugins.

I'd probably give the Profile Fields Control MOD a try, if phpBB's MOD architecture weren't so sloppy.

I like giving other people advice that I wouldn't take. It's just as fun as spending other people's money! :)
