Looking For More Moderators

Postby SRN » Fri Sep 11, 2020 6:40 pm

Anyone else willing to be a moderator? Here's what you'd need to do:

Be on the site daily
Review pending posts to ensure that they're legit (not spam)
Mark and delete spam and ban spammers
Moderate issues on the board (very few)

Thats it! Post up if you're willing.

There are many people who don't use Facebook for a myriad of reasons. Also, Facebook is a horrible repository for information. Forums are a great place to be able to search for information that can be, in some cases, decades old. Most forums that saw a downturn over the last decade because of the rise of Facebook and Instagram are now starting to see users return in significant numbers; Planet Isuzoo included. I doubt that forums will ever return to their zenith of the early '00's; but they are certainly making a comeback!

True and i've had this discussion on other boards on how we'd like to see content curated/maintained as Hall of Fame types of posts get created and stickies.
Has anyone asked the new owners to host pics that people upload or link to?
That way we never run into the photobucket fiasco from years ago?

What? I'm with you 1,000% on the photobucket fiasco, but it was self-inflicted. This forum DOES have the capability to host its own images. I think that feature arrived around 2006.

Oh I know,
but whenever there is a cross link to another location, pull the image into the site for self hosting.
I've been guilty of that for years.
But anyhow off topic.

That would be a cool feature, for sure. I may have to see if there's a phpBB extension that does it (for a forum I operate).
