LOL.

That was really more interesting than I thought it would be. And not a long treatise filled with formulas I'll never use.

It's been a long time since I've run across double nuts used for locking. I've used the double nut method for removing studs. Now I understand why sometimes it works good and sometimes it doesn't.. Hold the top nut still and torque the bottom nut up into the top one.
