Hi folks,
I dug around on here (and the interwebs generally) but couldn't find the specific info I'm looking for.
I'm looking to replace (what I think are) stock 15x6" wheels on a 1986 Trooper (2.3L gas) with these https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/681114/10002/-1 or something similar. The backspace (3.75"), bolt pattern (6x5.5), and hub (108) all seem to match up with what the Trooper needs, but the rims are 2" wider. I'm planning to put a 235/75/15 tire on them.
Does anyone have any experience putting 15x8" rims on an '86 Trooper that isn't lifted? Any rubbing? If there is, would a small lift solve it without having to trim anything down? I'm also open other wheel and tire ideas if anyone has a favorite setup they run.
I should also add: I'm very much a noob to all of this so please forgive any misused terminology and general ignorance!
Many thanks in advance!
Tim
