It runs like a race horse with it's --- on fire.
I has a a few issues though, I have to finish it. Still need to button down a few minor things.
The shifter boots need to be secured.
Grill needs to be put back on.
It developed a leak at the carb/manifold connection. I used a old 2 barrel carb we had lying around the shop and it could stand to be replaced, it sat on the shelf like 8 years before I dusted it off and bolted it on. at a minimum it could use a rebuild but I would just replace it.
The GM power steering pump make a tad more pressure than the Isuzu on and it has started leaking around the steering gear box. It will need a rebuild. I have the rebuild seal set but havent ventured into the rebuild.

Overall I would call it a success and it is proof that it can be done. But to be honest I have lost interest. My wife bought me an FJ Cruiser and it has pretty much dominated my time.
It has a/c and all the creature comforts. I'm ashamed to say but the older I get the more I enjoy the "get in and go adventure" than the wrench for a few days and go hoping you dont have to fix something on the trail. It's sad but true.

So if you know anyone looking to own a 4.3l v6 vortec 1988 Isuzu Trooper have them hit me uo. I might do something stipid and sell itt for less than the conversion parts cost me.

Oh ok, I was hoping you modified the adapter to work with the 4 banger trans.

no sorry I mis-understood your question. You need the v6 trans to make the adapter work.
It requires a custom flywheel too, not just the adapter plate.
I have about $1200 in the conversion. it is alot of work and research to find the right manifolds, pilot bearing, and about 100 little things you wouldnt think would be an issue.
The adapter plate and flywheel are about $1000. I had the 4.3v already. so $200 or more in miscellaneous pieces, and parts. plus the fab work to make it all fit.
