Or a sas and exocage  that´ll be sweet!, but as long as it´s a zu I´m ok.

I think I may have found the problem with the front end clunk/bang noise. Seems that when the bumper vibrates over road bumps/holes it hits the fender making a loud clunk  . I´ll check up on it later, I did not think the gap left between both was small when we installed it but oh well. The noise is always on the driver´s side, and it also always happens when the passenger front wheel hits something, the clunk goes to the driver side. Soon I´ll get rid of that mofo :x , soon.

Check your front body mounts too. My 91 was like that over bumps, and it was the front body mount.

Did you get your lights yet? Mine look good but unfortunately I haven't had the chance to wire them up yet. My buddy got his wired and said they look great, super bright.

Thanks man!!

I did get my lights too. Got them a couple of weeks ago and haven´t installed them yet. The housings are the exact same thing as my Rigids. They look perfectly built and I hope they light up good as well.

Last week I got the connectors ready and checked them for clearance on the roof bar.

I still have to make 4 small tabs to mount them on the light bar.

Hi guys, here´s an update: I got married 2 months ago on March 9th. I drove my trooper to the wedding and to the reception. One of my best buddies and his wife dressed up the Trooper for the occasion. Here are a couple of chase pics of my buddy in his white KB and us blazzing to the hotel followed by the wedding photographer. The wedding was incredible and we are very happy :D

A couple of weeks ago Bart (nfpgasmask) came to Costa Rica and we spent a day with him. It was awesome and we had a good time. We went on a small trip up to the mountains to chit chat and play in a river. Here are some pics and some videos posted on another thread from Bart:

Last week I installed a overhead multimeter/compass + maplights I had bought from Chris (Onebadtrooper) a while ago. BIG thanks to him for those  . He sent me the complete assembly with the mounting plate, sensor and a good amount of wiring harness to set them up.

I removed the driver´s side pillar, both sun visors and rear view mirror. After that just had to lightly pull down on the headliner and insert the mounting plate, measure and start cutting. Made my wiring harness to power everything up and ran the wires through the head liner down the pillar to the back of the radio and to the temp sensor that goes behind the grill.

These links were very useful with the wiring process:

viewtopic.php?t=30939&highlight=

viewtopic.php?t=17413&highlight=multimeter

It was a bit scary cutting through the roof liner..

I wonder if by any chance the units on the multimeter can be changed from feet to meters and from farenheit to Celcius. I haven´t searched for that though. Anyone have a clue?

Thanks for checking it out

I also removed my old round roof lights and installed the new spot leds. I had to make 4 tabs to install them on the roof bar. I still have to finish the wiring for them. I already have a nice switch for them but I was thinking of getting a oem fog light switch so I have to make up my mind quickly to make them work once in for all... :P

This is the switch I currently have, it´s fine and perfect.

Image

I was just thinking it would be nicer to have a oem switch right beside the foglight switch on the dash that the trooper has since I have the Rigid D2 bumper lights hooked up to that one.

I really like how they turned out installed. Looks cleaner and nicer to me.

Hey Dennis thanks for the reply. I´ll try that later today :thumbleft:

It does seem that the feet should change to meters according to your first picture, on display Group A. I´ll find out soon :P

Fantastic looking trooper! Love what you've done with it! Those Rigid lights are cray bright...
I know it was awhile ago, but you got a part # for that center link, or the model year of the Pup it's supposed to go to? I like the idea of having a stabilizer for in the future when I get much bigger tires. Did the stabilizer bolt right up, or did you have to fab a bracket?
Keep up the good work!

Thank you very much Sam! Hey, on the center link: I do not have the part number for it... sorry. I do know that they are also the same for the isuzu pickups you have over there (spacecabs or regular cabs, like recon´s or squatchs´. I think Squatch had one on his blackbeans build thread but I´m not sure. The stabilizer bolts right up to the center link on one side, but on the other side it bolts on the pickup´s Idler Arm that has the mounting point for it. So, you will need the pup´s idler arm, cernterlink and oem damper. I can get you some pics if you want. If those are hard to get over there it would just be easier to get a universal steering damper that comes with the clamps and tabs to mount them on various points.

Thanks for checking it out.

Re: 2002 Turbo Diesel Trooper

Postby beto » Tue May 28, 2013 2:54 pm

Last week I finished the wiring for the roof lights. We finished a new wiring harness with fuse box to keep the wiring of the lights and other stuff better organized in the engine bay.

The lights work great and I´m very happy with them They are spots so they compliment the Rigid´s driving pattern very good. I´ll post some night shots later on.

Image
Image

I´m planning on getting a cb and meanwhile I buy one my buddy will let me borrow one of his. I researched a bit and ordered a firestick 3ft antenna and stud and will mount it this week.

Image

Also, we found out there was a winch sale on a kind of harbor freight we have over here. They had the Badland 12000 at a very low price so I decided to pull the trigger on it. I researched here and on a lot of other forums and obviously found very bad opinions. I also found good feedback and some comparison tests so I took the opportunity.

We installed it on Saturday and seems to work fine. We took apart the gears to clock it and while were at it we applied a good amount of grease because it did not have enough. We also applied silicone to the end cap to keep water out.

Image
Image
Image

The front end lowered just a tiny bit. My rear springs had settled a little and it was sitting a tad lower in the back. With the winch I think it looks level now. I´ll review it in a couple of weeks to make sure its ok.

We have a trip this weekend and we expect it to be muddy. I do not look forward to using the winch, but it makes me happy we can be more adventurous and be able to get unstuck i f we need to.

Thanks for checking it out

i have always like your trooper, looks really good. I am really interested in the winch as I have a harbor freight in my town and keep seeing the winches going on sale and am curious how they are. Of course I have a few things to do before doing a winch like a bumper but good info for later.
