Adding Power Mirrors - 1983 P'up

I scrolled through several hundred power mirrors on eBay, Amazon, and the Summit Racing site, and finally settled on a pair of aftermarket power mirrors designed for the 1991-1996 Toyota Previa. I was expecting to have to fabricate new mounting bases to correct the mount angle, but It turned out, I didn't need to. The 1981-1983 P'up has a very narrow area where the factory mirror mounted, and nothing else fits there. Isuzu moved it below the "crease" on 1984-up models, but it's an almost vertical surface. So most pedestal style mirrors from other vehicles won't work.

This was just a test fitting with sheet metal screws. I'll post more as I make progress. Once I'm done, I plan to have the P'up repainted.

Making progress, very slowly. I finally got the wiring all sorted out.

Next, I need to drill the doors and jambs for the wiring (these old models didn't have even one pair of speaker wires going to the doors).
