Hi, I am new to this forum as I am trying to help my son sell his Passport...I assume that it is OK to post hear as it is a rebadge Rodeo!

My son got it for college and is now leaving Conn for CA and he does not know how much to sell it for. He was researching and found selling prices higher than he thought, so is now really confused. Here are the details;
99 Honda Passport, LX, 4WD, 191,000 miles, automatic, has been an east coast car. Timing belt replaced less than 2,000 miles ago. Runs pretty good. Some dings, a bit of rust, interior is OK, some minor leaks. 4wd light is on. Needs brakes, rotors, lower ball joints. The work estimate from a mechanic is about $1k, 2/3 of that is labor. Mechanics says if this work is done should be able to go on long trips. Is it worth my son getting the work done before selling or sell it as is, or maybe just get the 4wd light fixed (around $200)? Really confused as there seems to be a good market for Rodeos and Passports. I don't have any pictures right now unfortunately.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

KBB has listings for similar mileage anywhere from $2500-$4500. By what you describe, I think it's safe to say you are going to be on the low end of that range. If you get the work done, why sell it? I don't think that it's going to fetch top price due to the fact that it's an east coast car. If it's truly $1000 to fix all of the problems (I don't believe it), then why not just fix it and drive it? If not, put a $2000 price on it and get rid of it as is.

Not sure why anyone would willingly move to CA, but good luck.
