Manual Trooper parts fit rodeo?

I have a 01 Rodeo 4WD and I found an 01 Trooper 4WD at the junkyard.

I am in need a fourth transmission for the rodeo. The 4L30e is terrible. I started to pull one from a junkyard today when I noticed the manual trooper.

Can I salvage all the parts from that trooper to convert my Rodeo to 5spd?

EDIT: There is also a few 95ish Rodeo's that have a 5psd. Can I use the transmission and clutch/shifter from those?

The 4L30 is a useless pile of $hit.
A working used 4L30 pile of $**** transmission is no better than your old broken pile of $hit 4L30 that broke
A re-manufactured 4l30 will cost you more than the Rodeo is worth and only last 120k-ish miles, making it a total pile of $hit.

I spend a lot of time converting Troopers and Rodeos form auto to manual and have completed over 20 so far.
3.2 V6 trooper and 3.2L V6 Rodeos share the same engine and transmission. To convert you will need the fallowing parts removed form the donor vehicle; The rear transmission cross-member, exhaust Y pipe, both drive shafts, both shifters, interior center console, approx 22" of the transmission harness, ECM, Instrument cluster, Vss, slave cylinder & take the flywheel bolts (they are odd ball size) Next buy a new flywheel, clutch, 3 foot long by 5mm ID stainless tubing, oils from any local auto parts store. finally buy a Wilwood universal clutch pedal and master cylinder from SummitRacing.

Disclaimer: i made this list by memory, its late & I am a little tired.... Im sure I forgot to list something.

Thank you so much for this information. I truly appreciate it. I spent the day at the junkyard trying to remove everything you listed from a 94 5spd 3.2 Rodeo

I got the 5spd transmission unbolted at the junkyard, and pulled it out slightly and am able to see the flywheel, though I Can't get the trans out any more than that?

The forklift guy wasn't at the yard today and we can't bring jacks, so I used ratchet straps to lift the trans and keep it level with the motor so the spline would slide out, but still was unable to pull it all the way out.

Tomorrow I'm returning to the junkyard to get the transmission. Hopefully with the forklift we can get a good angle and the transmission will slide out.

Have you released the clutch? You'll need to do that to get the tranny to slide off. Well, that's what you have to do on the AR5 trannies. I think it's the same on the MUA-5 as well.

Like this. I had a heck of a time doing this part. This is on a 1999 Rodeo, but I think it's the same style clutch. Someone jump in if this isn't correct and I'll delete these posts so I'm not spreading wrong info.

The transmission came out. I took off the slave cylinder wiggled the fork and put a screw driver in front of the clutch assembly and turned it. It was a bit of playing with it for a while and then the magic just happened.

I was able to get everything on the list at the junkyard except the flywheel bolts and the ECM. This donor Rodeo was crashed from the front so I couldn't keep it from turning over as there is no room in the engine bay. Luckily I have found the flywheel bolts online. Though I'm considering going back and hitting them with the air gun.

I'm confused about the ECM. It didn't appear to be in the same locations as my 01 in the 94 donor Rodeo.

Were all 3.2's OBD2? Won't I just get a trans cell and maybe no cruise control if I keep my ECM?

I have to go back this weekend anyways. There was a fresh Rodeo at the yard with mint grey leather seats.

The Engine Control Module (ECM) from a 1994 Rodeo cannot control the engine in your 2001 Rodeo. 1996 and newer Rodeo's use a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) as opposed to an ECM. The PCM controls both the engine and transmission, so when you remove the 4L30e transmission the OBDII system will detect transmission errors and illuminate the CEL. In some states you cannot pass an emission test with the CEL illuminated. If you want to install a manual transmission PCM in your truck you need one from a V6 01 or 02 Rodeo, Rodeo Sport, Passport.

Thank you everyone for your help.

Here are some pictures from yesterday at the yard.

I've got the Rodeo pushed into the garage. Going to try and pull the 4l30-POS this weekend. May make another run to the junkyard if I feel things are going well. It seemed the crashed Rodeo gave more room to get the bolts out from the top of the tranny. At least I'll be in the shade and on concrete. Pulling a 200lb transmission alone in the greasy dirt of a junkyard during 100+ degree temperatures wasn't the easiest
