Ok just some pics and mods lots left to do,I'm just finishing up lots of projects that piled up in my building during the "BEE season"

Oops after relocating radiator to bury the winch into front end

Forgot about little things like the radiator clamp

so out with old and in with new

Mounted

radiator moved back 2" shows fuses for relays

Hoodpins since I cut so much radiator support away, hood wouldn't always open.

latest bling 8)
A switch panel that will mount on the rollcage infront of and above heater controls.Winch control,in/out. 3 light switches for front,2 for fans, rev light and interior light.I had to move alot of crap since the cage takes up so much room.

and yes that is a sea turtle swimming above sea grass.........

got's ta represent TEAM TURTLE

Front bumper that gained over 3" of front clearance over stock bumper

There will be lot's of updates and pics.

Thank you

It was built for Planet Isuzoo members to enjoy
And if the opportunity ever arises to enjoy it from the passenger seat, I STRONGLY recommend it!

Cheers!

Bluebait might argue that...after the last crash we had  ..oops

Here's the crash from another thread

______________________________________________________

The crash......wow it hurt bad, luckly we had neck collars, and harnesses on,wish I had a hanns device installed tho'

We decided to run 1 lap around the track the opposite direction than the three other laps, sight unseen.

My co-dog left early to pick up his daughtter,so I had no co-pilot.

Bluebait stepped up and said he'd ride,I told him to let me know what was coming up next the jumps etc,he did good overall the last corner is a tight right, left and then a sweeping left to finish line.
We'll I over rotated the sweeper and did not get setup for the jump right,
but at 40+mph there wasn't much to do but hold on this was the launch, way to far left

The next picture I'll get next week is awesome 8) we were almost 6' in the air and 25ft later after clearing the table top.............all hell broke loose..................
I came down hard on the left front into a 18" berm

I know it doesn't sound like much but you can see where my bumper dug in on the left side and ..................
You can imagine how verticle we were by the impact of 12" of dirt pounded into what was left of my headlight............the bumper/bars etc. took all the impact no bent tubing (triangulation works)it felt like hitting a brick wall....
we went from about 40 mph to 0mph in a few inches  ouch.......

I bent the frame behind the upper a-arm mount pretty badely but what is expected, from a headon collision with terra firma.

After the launch I said"****!!!...hold on" and BANG

we have bumps and bruises from the belts and very sore necks,I'm about 90% now......

I'd still roll with ya...but ouch for sure. It's still amazing to me that you can thoroughly beat on this thing for the time you have and it still functions. I'm assuming from the build thread you're still running the 4banger? Have you done anything to the little (2.6?) to get the power you need? It seems you can launch that Amigo pretty high off those jumps ;-)

except for the welded rear, rear traction bar and rear links (3/4 elliptic) it's 100% stock 8)

2.6 5spd etc......

We roll the most stock trucks on the east coast racing series (Team Turtle and Darlington Offroad Racing)

That makes me more excited for the one I'm about to buy!!! :bounce:

Very impressive man

Low range is your best friend.....5th gear is good for 55+ never drive it in hi except on the street.
Take one stock amigo
Crank front 1 1/2"
install hvy duty tierods(or JoeD's tierod shelds
Weld rear
Run 33x12.5
Trim front fenders and bumper if stock
Low range

And have fun

Other mods will follow like
Rear traction bar
Dual shocks up front
Best mod was hvy duty tbars from matt

Amigo is best bang for the buck
She'll idle down to 300-400rpm in low range
And side hill like a mother ******

I've bought plenty of other rigs (Jeep XJ, YJ, ZJ, Bronco 81/89/and a 96) never bought the Amigo because of the IFS...but now with my understanding of what I'm actually going to with it I've realized it's perfect for the duties I need it for...plus it lets me have the benefits of my old Bronco without the 12 mpg ;-)

The down side is the one I'm looking at needs a little help and like everyone else currently I'm down on cash. But...I'm still doin everything I can to pick it up ;-)

So Doug, if it's meant for all of us to enjoy, does that mean I get to drive it :D

If she was running at the moment you were camped in the back yard....what the heck...sure

As long as you can get in

So it looks to me like you are running the same setup as me. I have 34" tires, but just sitting a little higher than you.

Looks sweet!! I'm mounting a roof rack this coming week, I'll put pics up and show ya. Here is a pic of after the paint job and tires.

I wanted to lift a little from here, but I do like the look of the Amigo's sitting with no lift and large tires, lol.

Lol, man, that looked like a wicked ride!! I would happily ride passenger in that!! xD

I have the exact same winch on my '88 S10, did the same thing as you, I moved the radiator back a few inches, converted to electric fans and mounted the winch with just a bunch of grade 8 bolts and angle iron, NO welding at all and if ya'll look at my youtube vids BubonicPlague88 you'll see that same winch setup pulling out a stuck K5 fully built dead weight SIDEWAYS without breaking. I love that winch. What weight? Mine was 9,000 lbs from Harbor Freight.

Same size...when I read this thread it makes me want to drag the old girl off the trailer and fix her  ...maybe this spring

All for the love of isuzu's !!! I got a massive wheelie down in the sand once with my old amigo flying up a hill at 40-50. I wish I had a picture of it !!! I hit a bump just right 3/4 of the way up and rode it up and over the hill !! All with the little 2.6 and ifs... Great pics Bansil !!
