Hey all.
I've got a 2004 Axiom and have been dying to add an aux input to it. For a quick back story, I've been looking for Axiom adapters and came up empty handed because I guess it's not profitable for a company to develop aux input adapters for a vehicle with low production numbers.
Anyway, I thought I'd go the other route and look for "Clarion" aux input adapters as they make the deck and changer for the Axiom. And sure enough, it uses that same "plug" as the CeNet sytems that they sell.
So I bought the CLR-AUX product from pie.net and I was axiously pacing until it arrived. I hooked it and up and got the following conditions:
1. Audio from changer is good
2. Deck can control changer
3. Data displayed on info center correct
4. Switch to aux input and it goes silent.
5. To restore CD audio requires unplug/replug and turn ignition back on
I've used 2 different RCA to 3.5mm cables, with an MP3 player and a Sirius PnP and got a second CLR-AUX. So I've basically used two of everything.
So where I stand is this: the Axiom cable looks like CeNet but must have a subtle difference. 8 of the 13 pins pass straight though the PCB, with the 5 remaining pins running into the audio relay circuitry. So I assume we're looking at L+/- and R+/- with one other mystery line.
But the fact that the unit plays audio from the changer and you can control everything leads me to believe that the pinouts for the Axiom match the CeNet standard. I mean it's not going to work if the VDC line is on the Data line or the ground is on the R+ line right?
I'm going nuts here trying to get this to work. I'm getting to the point where I may disassemble the PCB and make my own relay setup. I've decided this is going to be a project that I'm going to see through to the end. What I'm hoping is that other Axiom owners and Isuzu fans can pool our collective ideas/info and figure this out. I'm sure I'm not the only Axiom owner that would love to have Sirius play directy instead of a crappy FM rebroadcast.
So if anyone has info on the Axiom and/or CeNet pinouts any help posted here would be greatly appreciated. I love my Isuzu and this is about the only gripe I have. _________________ Dear Isuzu, build the Kai and GBX and I will buy one of each. |

I'd also like a way to connect directly in. I hate my FM modulator with my XM radio. I don't remember how Tad did his IPOD, I'm thinking he's running a aftermarket headunit.

Not sure if this is available for XM (I don't see why it wouldn't) but I have one of these for my Sirius Sportster. No static and no more having to change radio stations. _________________ Steve

Aftermarket is not going to cut it for me. I've seen one decent install of an aftermarket NAV system in an Axiom and the guy put the head unit in the center console to keep the climate controls. I'm not going that route. Opening my center console to adjust the fan or AC would drive me nuts. This should be easy to figure out, but it's kicking my a--. Like I said, I may do manual switches. Either a 4PDT Rocker (very hard to find in my size requirements) or 2 2PDT rockers mounted in my coin holders (seat heaters on the XS). I'm just looking for some pinout info before I start. _________________ Dear Isuzu, build the Kai and GBX and I will buy one of each. |

Wired modulator won't work for me either, because I bought the Xact XTR2CK which has no FM out. I had the Sirius One which has it but moved it to my wifes car. She has a blue dash to match and I wanted a multi-line orange display to match the Axiom's interior.
Besides I want this to work for my MP3 player as well so it needs to be a true Aux-in. _________________ Dear Isuzu, build the Kai and GBX and I will buy one of each. |

So have you got an answer to this yet? I am in exactly the same place as you. Same car, same desire, except I am only interested in connecting up an MP3 player (Creative Zen M). I did read in a different forum where this apparently worked fine in an (earlier?) Axiom.
