I am going to be biulding a custom front bumper soon and was wanting to know what you guys are using for turn/marker lights? Using the factory lights are not an option for me(there broke).
idea.. is it ok to put the dual filament bulb/wiring into the corner lights so they are my running/turn signal lights? then i can just take the wirng from the corner lights and hook them up to some small driving lights on the bumper. or is there laws regarding doing this? do the turn signal lights need to be below the headlights..etc
thanks _________________

A lot of vehicles, including 2nd gen rodeos, use the corner lights as turn signals. It should not be a problem. _________________ --Dave

I spent a few hours at my local wrecking yard today and looked at a Rodeo for you. It looks like you will have to fab a hole in the back of the corner light to mount your second light. (don't remember if you have turn signal, or parking light now) I'm not sure I looked the right year, but the bulb looked quite small, too small for a double filament I would think. _________________ Gary

Go to a slavage yard and look for anything that uses the corner lights for parking and turn signal lights, like a 2nd gen rodeo (actually anything that uses a dual filament bulb should work). Take the light, socket, and connector/wiring. Cut out the area with the hole where the socket goes into and a matching cut on your existing corner lights. Epoxy the larger opening to the exisiting lights, then wire up the socket. _________________ --Dave

Mine uses 1157, which is the same as the tail/stop lights on my Trooper.
If you are real good with a Dremell, try getting a tail light off a 94 Trooper w/ the light bulb socket. Use the hole in the tail light as a pattern, then make a hole that size & shape in the back of your front corner light. Just make sure the light fixture is deep enough. If it's not, try using a small bulb with the correct brightness.
Keep at it, you'll figure something out! _________________ Gary
