Ok just some pics and mods lots left to do,I'm just finishing up lots of projects that piled up in my building during the "BEE season"
Oops after relocating radiator to bury the winch into front end
Forgot about little things like the radiator clamp
so out with old and in with new
Mounted
radiator moved back 2" shows fuses for relays
Hoodpins since I cut so much radiator support away, hood wouldn't always open.
latest bling
A switch panel that will mount on the rollcage infront of and above heater controls.Winch control,in/out. 3 light switches for front,2 for fans, rev light and interior light.I had to move alot of crap since the cage takes up so much room.
and yes that is a sea turtle swimming above sea grass.........
got's ta represent TEAM TURTLE
Front bumper that gained over 3" of front clearance over stock bumper
There will be lot's of updates and pics. _________________ The Turtles' site

When you installed the lectric fans, did you put the relays in with the lead pointed up?
Reason I ask is that I've had several get wet inside and ended up getting fried. I have
since reinstalled them so that the leads were pointing down - preventing water from getting
into them and fooking them up.
Just my two cents... _________________ MarkB, '90 Trooper, 2.6L, 5spd, Aisin hubs, AMC head, Cone filter, 1.5" lift, custom bumpers, 31x10.5 Goodyear MTRs, 154K miles. |

Doug -- all this time, you've been trying to tell me what tires you're running, when all you had to say was...
'They're the Blair Witch Tires'
I would LOVE to see a list of all of the previous owners of those M/Ts... It would probably read like a 'Who's-Who' of Planet Isuzoo!
Photo-wise, for a start, I'm sure we would all like to see some pix of the Roll Cage (* Yes, I know you're not finished with it... get over it -- no one is going to complain if it isn't perfect yet ), as well as some flexed-out shots of that 3/4 rear spring set-up
Cheers!

ok you pic ho's
heres some more
People who build truks should not have home improvement store CC's
spray foam does not make a permanent fix for huge rust out's this is what the rockers where made of
it's all good it let me tuck up the skidder,it's not done in this pic since the outer rub rails missing
also ignore what the can says.......bondo will stick to chrome bumpers atleast 1/4" thick
I took them off, every time I'd back into something they'd squash not letting the tailgate open.......another bumper is in the works.
Apick of the winch tuck
Veiw thru windshield
another looking at the dash............and no it's not nearly done yet
pick of the traction bar tucked up tight, beside the welded rear this was the best mod to date,no spring rap at all,the rearend is nailed to the graound
front mount:
rear mount:
and sneak peak at the light bar,it'll be mounted low ala TT
You'll notice that alot of the pics look old, that's because it's been wheeled hard this past year.
I'll get more pics up on monday or tuesday. _________________ The Turtles' site

The switch panel was done by a friend with a plasma table,it will mount on the cage infront of the heater controls, you can see the mounts in cage pic.
The relays are mounted as they look in top pic,If they get water in them there's alot of other problems with connections, they are mounted the way they are for quick diagnostics and replacement, thatnks for insite tho' you are correct.

No as it looks he needs a horse jockey to ride with him.
I don't envy you trying to build a roll cage, is that as far forward as the front part of the cage will be?

ugh the seats aren't mounted just thrown in there I take them out to weld etc. then just throw them in to keep the weather and cats off them.
The seats will be mounted 3" lower than stock and back about 6-8" so there won't be much turning your head sideways and looking to the right and left unless I install port holes It's not bad tho' even in stock position I have 4" of shin clearance.
as to mounting it much further forward there is a body mount in the way
and I need to be able to weld 360* to the frame. It's not attached and can be easily modified--------still haven't put the "nascar" bars on the side yet.
If bo and luke can get out of a small charger window there shouldn't be much trouble....as for fast.........well.We're old so we'll worry more about .......
It's really not bad just kinda weird with big feet. _________________ The Turtles' site

I really need to do your traction bar mod. Cuz I get really bad axle wrap and I have broken the center pin in my leaf springs two times. let me know how you did it. _________________ Don't Take Your Guns To Town - Johnny Cash
