If you check with any large diesel shops in your area - they may be able to direct you to a
injection shop near by where you are located..
They could have what you need.

I can probably get them to you faster than shipping from china. If you can't find them let me know and I'll price them for you.

Seems they are Bosch GPI-014. Reach out to Bosch to see if that is something they can track to see if any are available.

He is saying that the glowplugs that came eith the engine should work, unless they are burned out. Some engines come with a 24v system, but the 4JG2 does not.

How long does it usually take to burn out?

The symptoms are that the engine doesn't start easily and when it does it, it smokes a lot and runs rough until it warms up. Honestly it's a friend of mine who is doing the project so the reason I am curious is because I'm starting to doubt his credibility.

Take them out and test them with a battery. The points should turn red in a few seconds. Unless they've been connected too long continuously, I would doubt they are shot. You could test them with a multimeter too, but I don't know the resistance value. If it's an open circuit, they're burned out. The running rough wouldn't be affected by the glow plugs, as they only are on for an instant before the engine starts. My 4JB1 doesn't even have them hooked up, although the 4JB1 is direct injection so it starts faster.

Thanks ya'll! The ones from China came incredibly fast. Already here. Can anyone give me an estimate of how long it would take to replace the glow plugs on a 4JG2? I'm just wondering how big of a job it is.

Too late now but you could have probably gotten some quality ones from Japan just as quick.

I meant Japanese parts, not necessarily directly from Japan, just not Chinese knock-off parts. If you are like me you spent a decent amount of money on the engine to have a quality engine.

Not Japan, but here is the UK. Milner is reputable and you don't pay VAT: http://www.milneroffroad.com/isuzu/mu/u ... ter-plug-0.

I have personally ordered from http://www.japanese4x4spares.co.uk with excellent results (just give them a call/email if it isn't on their website). They sourced parts that I couldn't (upgraded timing belt kit) and lumped it in with the order I placed for one shipping charge. Parts arrived in 7 days total.
